As you already know, Apple is based in the US, many of it’s products are assembled in China and exported to the US. So, why would Samsung want to stop Apple from importing iPhones and Ipads into the US? Samsung claims Apple violated five of their patents.

Samsung said in a statement, "The complaint requests relief in the form of a permanent exclusion order prohibiting entry to the United States of all Apple products in violation of these patents."

Back in June, Apple settled with Nokia for disputes over patents for touch screens, gesture touch and the built-in “app store” for downloading program updates. So, it seems Apple has a knack for ripping off other manufactures.

Samsung and Apple are not only competitors … Apple is one of Samsung’s biggest customers. Apple was the world's largest buyer of chips for phones and computers in 2010. Samsung is the world's largest manufacturer of memory chips and sells to Apple.
